Rockin' Lip Glosses from Armour Beauty, Swatches and a Review

While lipstick might be back in a major way, lip glosses still reign supreme in summer popularity. No matter how you look at it, there is just something so pretty and youthful about a high-gloss lip. Contributing to the glossy lip cause is Armour Beauty.

Armour is the beauty baby of Theo Kogan, model/muse, rockstar, and entrepreneur. A small line that currently houses a total of 14 lipglosses, there are shades that run the range from opaque to sheer, demure to bold. Armour is a line all about unleashing your inner rock goddess.

The glosses themselves have a fruity scent/flavor. Made to last a bit longer than your traditional gloss, these possess slightly more tack than standard issue. The applicator on these is a doe foot, which yields a slightly sheerer application. I think my one gripe with the packaging is that I wish it had a brush, just so the opaque shades can apply truly opaque with one coat, ya know?

At the Makeup Show, I chatted with the gorgeous Theo herself. After introducing me to the line, the shades, and enumerating the glosses’ many lip-loving ingredients, she suggested I go for opaques based on my color preferences. I got two- Baby Jane and Cat Club.

Cat Club is a bright pink, hot in the tube but a soft, vibrant rose on the lips. It is perfect for those who want to dip their toes and tread carefully into bolder lip territory. Layered on top of a rose or fuchsia lipstick, this shade really pops.

Baby Jane is a milky nude with a warm cast. On its own it wears a very soft peachy beige, but with a nude lipstick the shade gains life and adds a delicious luster. Fans of MAC C Thru will love Baby Jane.

While I do enjoy the glosses, I do wish the opaques were slightly more opaque. Swatched on the hand they are pigmented and beautiful, but on my lips they lose a bit of that vibrancy. I blame the doe foot, which is standard in most glosses but just doesn’t deliver the pigment punches I crave.

Armour Beauty lipglosses are available on the Armour Beauty website. For fun gloss shades with edgy names, Armour hits the spot.

I love her lipglosses. I talked to Theo at the make up show and she was so nice and approachable. I particularly love Last dance. Catclub is so pretty as well as Gazam's. I need Barrucada to be back on stock so I can get :)
