Hypothesis: If I love anything Smashbox does, especially the Halo Powders
then
Conclusion: It is inevitable that I too will love the new Smashbox Halo Eyeshadows.
And oh yes, I do love them. The newest product to come out of the Halo family (Halo Face Powder and Halo Glow are the first two), Smashbox Halo Hydrating Shadows are like nothing I have ever seen before in an eye product. A dual chambered powder eyeshadow that enables you to "shave" off some of the product before you apply, these high-tech wonders have quickly become my morning go-to for quick, easy, flawless eye looks.

Halo Eye Shadow is an innovative new concept in powder that allows you to "grate" off any amount of product as you go. The package contains a light shade of shadow on the outer ring with a dark circle of shadow in the center. To use, all you need to do is turn the top of the package clockwise to "shave" or "grate" off the desired amount of loose powder. Because these are loose, color can be applied as a sheer wash over the lids all the way to a deep, rich opacity when packed on or used wet. The texture on these are smooth as silk, with a satin-like finish and almost no shimmer. They blend like butter, and the colors in each duo compliment each other perfectly, making application quick, easy, and fuss-free. As with the original Halo, these powders are as good for the skin as they look on it. Halo powders are designed to smooth out the lid while diminishing the appearance of fine lines, all thanks to an ingredient list that includes all-natural minerals, pure gold, 11 amino acids, goji berry, and a silk peptide-soy complex. The product is designed to up the moisture factor in your skin within ten minutes, making it great for those prone to dry lids. The shadows are never cakey or clumpy either.
For reference, here is the size of Halo Eye compared to original Halo Face Powder. Although smaller in size, one container will last forever!
All of the beautiful shades.
The only complaint I have about these shadows is that it seems the delivery system isn't without a couple of kinks. It varied from package to package, but I did notice that you had to turn a couple of times in order to get enough of the center color for application. Granted, I do use more of the lighter color (layered from lashline to brownbone), but I would have liked perhaps a bit more of the darker (crease) color to come out with fewer turns. That minor rant aside, the packaging is really fun to use, and convenient to travel with.

oOOO. I love the taupe duo!
Jeweled Thumb, I agree. Taupe is rather pretty isn't it? :)
I love the 'shaving' idea, means there shouldn't be too many spills!
Lillian, exactly so!
