Mac Prep and Prime Line Filler Review

Mac Prep and Prime Line Filler is being released with the Colour Ready Collection. So before that comes out, let me give you all a brief review/preview

What it is: Prep and Prime is a spot treatment primer to be used on areas of the face where you want to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Where you can use it: Crows Feet, Laugh Lines, Under the eyes to reduce puffiness. Pretty much anywhere!

Does it work?!: Heck yes! This product is absolutely amazingly awesome. It is thick and creamy, and blends flawlessly into the skin. This bad boy reduced my under eye puffiness and made my foundation glide on. Instead of accentuating furrows, it made my makeup look absolutely flawless. I know, I know. I am only 24 (gosh its hard to get used to saying that!), but a girl could still use a little help in looking silky smooth.

Pics don't lie, and here is the proof!
This is my hand before applying anything, notice the superfine wrinkles.

After rubbing the product in. Notice that completely smooth spot in the middle? Yep, thats the line filler doing its magic. Pretty cool, huh? Please click on the pic to see the details and get the full effect!

And here is what it looks like under foundation. I dare you to find a wrinkle on my face!
Yep, Mac done did good with this little baby (and I do mean little). I highlight recommend this product for all you gals who have a few lines or eye bags you want to hide.

Mac Prep and Prime Line Filler officially launches April 2nd with the Color Ready Collection!

The Birthday Report

First of all thank you so so much

The Outfit:
As always, bebe did not disappoint. I went in last week determined to find something fun, flirty and flattering and I got it in this mock wrap floral dress. The shoes are from Bebe as well and added just a bit of blinginess to the outfit. The jewelry is from Givenchy (costume, of course)

The Makeup:

I will post the full fotd tomorrow, but for those of you who are dying to know what I did, here is the preview:

The Experience:
So growing up I never really had full scale birthday bashes of the surprise variety. Hoping to change that, my boyfriend led me to believe we were heading for a quiet romantic dinner at one of our usual restaurants. Little did I know he was leading my dressed up self to a surprise birthday gathering of some of our closest friends at Dave & Buster's.
After 2 shizzles (I swear, who comes up with the names for the drinks?!), a meal of green beans and chicken, and the most awesome ice cream cake everrrr; I must say I was feeling very special. I had a great time with fantastic company.

The memories:
I have tons of pictures from the evening, but of course I won't bore you all with those. I will say this. My 24th birthday rocked.

Thanks again to all who wished me a Happy Birthday!

You Are What You Eat- The Perfect Skin Diet

In it's first beauty flip issue, Women's Health Magazine gives readers the ingredients and products they need to look and feel their best.

For years we have known that certain foods promote healthy skin. We know that ingredients like flax and Omega 3 are great for the heart, but did you know that they are great for your skin too? For a refresher course, check out Women's Health's Perfect Skin Diet

But why stop there? Lets take this show one step further.

How about some wasabi with your mud mask?
Watermelon in your face cream?
Okay fine, flax in your blush?

Nope, I am not reading off some sort of bizarre grocery list. I am actually listing some of the ingredients making their way into our skincare these days. Designed to make you look and feel your best, these super-charged products are making you more beautiful one flavonoid at a time.

Check out the great products that Women's Health recommends

I am eager to try out the Clay Mask with wasabi.

Women's Health 2nd Annual Beauty Spa Event @ Soho House

On Thursday, March 18th; Women's Health Magazine held its Second Annual Beauty Spa Event at the Soho House

The well known magazine was celebrating its very first Beauty Flip Issue.

Here it is:
First its all Women's Health
Flip it over, and its all about beauty!

This event was all about skincare, something I am always eager to learn more about.

Jackie with Boots Skincare was on hand to offer skincare consultations. As I sat in that chair, I knew I was in trouble because my skincare regime is less than impeccable. Jackie was an absolute sweetheart and I was quickly put at ease. After we finished gushing over our mutual love of Philosophy body washes, (which smell so good you can eat them up); our conversation went a little something like this:
J: Okay Adina, so whats your skincare routine
Me: Umm... skincare routine... I... don't have one?
J: Well, what are you using now?
Me: Cleansing Oil every evening, Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliator once in a blue moon, and Armani's Crema Nera moisturizer when I feel like it... Did I mention I suck at skincare?
J: ...

I kid, I kid. I make no secret of the fact that I am awful with skincare. Most of the time I just can't be bothered. While genetics has blessed me with good skin; (Jackie said so and I breathed a sigh of relief!) I was told that it is never too early to start preventing wrinkles.
Jackie recommended Boots Vanishing Day Cream, a cream designed to be used daily under makeup to improve the skin's appearance and prevent wrinkles.

Because looking like a California Raisin just isn't all that hot

You can find Boots Skincare at Target, or online at Target.com

Jackie sent me off with a couple of preventative skincare tips and I felt I left the consultation hot seat a little bit wiser.

After my consultation, it was off to my next conquest. As I scanned the perimeter, my beauty spidey senses went off, and I made a beeline to the display table showcasing the future of beauty. I will go more in depth about the contents within soon, but here is a sneak peak:
I spy lots of cool new things!

While oohing and ahhing over the fantastic array (which included a DIY Laser Treatment system!), I was approached by the very lovely and ultra sweet Alexis Farrah, the magazine's Assistant Beauty Editor. We went through the products and Alexis was kind enough to point out the highlights of each one.
Chatting with Alexis was like catching up with an old friend, and we talked about everything from the most recent technological advancements in beauty technology to our shared beauty banes (helloooo jew fro).
Thats actually the back of Alexa, and I am behind her.

All in all I found the event to be very educational, and I can't wait to share my findings with you!

Be sure to grab your issue of Women's Health for April's Beauty Flip, available on newsstands now!
I'm diggin' mine for sure and will discuss the contents within for the next couple of days so keep an eye out!!

MAC Colour Ready Preview Review

So I got a sneak peak at the entire collection and got to play with the new skincare items from this collection! Here are my thoughts!

The Line Filler is going to be my new best friend. This thick, clear gel-like substance is meant to be used on all those areas that are wrought with lines. When using it in a spot on my hand, I instantly noticed that area became super smooth. I imagine this will be amazing on the sunken areas around the eyes, crows feet, laugh lines, worry lines and anywhere else you want filled! Cannot wait til I can make this a part of my routine.

The Refined Zone is very liquidy, and when I put this on my hand I noticed it matted down the area. The Mac Artist I spoke with also said this will work very well at reducing the size of pores for those who have a problem with large pores. Sounds like a winner too!

Now on to the finishing powder. This is pretty much exactly like Make Up For Ever's HD Powder. It is a colourless superfine powder with the texture of cornstarch. When applied over the makeup it not only sets it, but it provides a soft focus effect which makes the skin appear flawless. This felt like silk on my skin!

In general, both the refined zone and the wrinkle filler are meant to be used as spot treatments! The squeeze tubes for these are teeny tiny, and are meant to be used only in the areas that need them as opposed to a primer which is meant to be used all over the face.

The size of the finishing powder is about the same size as the loose beauty powder containers to give you a bit of an idea.

Looks like these products are all winners! I cannot wait until the official launch April 2nd. Heck, MAC Pro should have this out this week!

For a refresher on the color collection, check out my swatch post here

Till then, let the countdown begin!
