I make absolutely no secret of the fact that i am awful when it comes to skincare. Give me an artist's palette and I can paint to my heart's content, but give me a tube of facial serum and it will sit in a corner unloved till it just up and leaves.
I have been blessed with pretty good skin (or so people have told me), so I figured I didn't need much upkeep or product to keep it that way. SPF was always optional and most of the time forgotten in my daily skincare (collective gasp here) and moisturizers get used once in a blue moon.
Well no more, this beauty blogger is turning over a new leaf. I solemny swear that I will dedicate myself to taking proper care of my skin. You can hold me to that one folks.
For my first foray into the world of potions and serums, I have a review here for you of Bliss Spa's Steep Clean Pore Purifying Mask. Heaven knows what kind of nasties are living in my pores and I am sure city pollution doesn't help either. My skin in general tends to be combination/normal and is fairly clear. My mine gripes are dullness, and the bumps and scaley skin I tend to get on my forehead from lack of exfoliation.
From the Bliss website: This pore plunging, clog clearing mask will transform skin into a scene of extremely clean when used weekly for 15 minutes. Intensive exfoliation, oil elimination, and deep pore purging are a perfect for all (but especially pimple prone) skin types.
Sign me up for some of that deep pore cleansing fo' reals! With pore purification on the brain, I
embarked on my journey to skincare enlightenment.
This particular mask comes housed in a pump tube with a bivalve delivery system that deposits 2 different kinds of goop (goop being a highly scientific term meaning colored gel substance). Instructions told me to mix the blue and green stuff till it turns seafoam green. I then put it all over my face, allowing my skin to marinate in it for 15 minutes. The smell is fresh and pleasant, and the slight tingling sensation I felt told me it was doing its job. After the 15 minutes were up, I used a small washcloth to wipe my face clean.
But did it really work? Survey has come back and the answer is a resounding YES! After use this baby made my skin soft, smooth (icky forehead bump and scale free!), luminous, and just overall pretty looking. Afterwords my moisturizer absorbed into my skin better, and my makeup just sat better.
Would I recommend this to all of you? Heck to the yeah! While at $54 it is pricey, I think the results made it worth it! It is definitely cheaper than a NY facial, and I am sure this pump will last me a while.
Clean pores await you

Love the new layout. How the heck did you do that?
I might try this. It looks cool. Does it sting a lot? I'm always afraid of skincare stuff b/c mine is so sensitive. But, if you say it works, I believe you!!
Let me know what you find out about wrinkle shizz in about 10 years. Oh wait, that will be too late. Damn.
Love you!!
i am exactly the same way when it comes to skincare. I probably have only exfoliated like twice in my time.
LOL @ the nasties in your pores! well said!
Yess!! I use this too! I use the whole line actually. I love it!
This review comes just at the right time. I'm currently on the hunt for a new and better mask.
D, this stuff is awesome. It didnt burn or anything, I just felt a slight pleasant tingle. Trust me, I don't mess around either as I have eczema!
