MAC Naked Honey- Review & Swatches
Overall I think this was a very manageable collection (ie not too big). The colors were very earthy, and the skincare products were solid, but not exceptional (save the salve)
Lipglass
She’s a Star - Light beigey gold. Nothing remarkable
Queen Bee - A little bit pink, a little bit coral. This one is actually very pretty for summer. I imagine it would look really cool with Lollipop Loving
Buzz - Dark Copper brown with flecks of red and orange. The color ends up being almost burnt sienna with sparkles. Very pretty
Eyeshadows
Crème de Miel - A frosty yellow/gold. This reminds me of Femme Fi but with stronger gold tones. The texture is everything we know and love about veluxe pearls.
Pollinator - A peachy coral. This one is very similar to Paradisco, except Pollinator has more coral/orange tones whereas paradisco has strong pink tones.
Buckwheat - A dark brown with subtle gold sparkle. This one reminds me a lot of Nars Galapagos, but with less obvious gold sparkle than Galapagos.
High-Light Powder
Honey Light - Described as a light peach, but I got a bit of a light yellowy gold with slight peach tones. I think this will best be suited for medium to darker skintones as a highlighting shade. There is still a slight shimmer under the overspray.
Golden Nectar - A bronzey brown/gold. On my nw15/20 self it made a great bronzer. Not too dark or muddy, with just the right amount of warmth to make it work well. Again, like with the Honey Light there is a slight shimmer in the powder under the overspray. Very soft and pretty.
Naked Honey Salve This is going to be the star of the skincare collection. The scent is very beachy to me. Sweet with a hint of honey, but there is something else in there that just screams coconut, tanning oil, and flowers. An interesting combo that is pretty pleasant. As for the texture, it is a bit hard in the tin, and needs to be warmed with the hands. It is heavy moisture, and I am sure many will flock to it!
Naked Honey Hand and Body Cream - This one was super thick and creamy. I honestly didn't get that strong of a scent from it, just a hint of honey and something slightly floral. I would have picked this up, if I didn't have a million other creams already!
Naked Honey Body Wash- Another variation on the naked honey scent. Just lighter. Nothing spectacular
Creations Fragrance: Naked Honey So I sniffed and sniffed trying to think what this one reminded me of. I had my eureka moment and it hit me, this smells just like Marc Jacobs Daisy, but with a hint of sweetness from the honey. It is actually a very young scent, a bit strong. I like it but have myself covered since I own Daisy.
Creations Fragrance: Africanimal- This one was all spicy musk. Not a scent I am fond of unfortunately
And there you have it, my thoughts on Naked Honey!
Now for some swatches!
What do you all think about Naked Honey, go or pass? Do tell!

Mac came out wit another line already? that was fast! i really wish they came back wit BARBIE tho!! i really wanna get it!!!!
So it's out Stateside now?
Hmmm it's "ok" but I'm not screaming in excitement over it.
I was gonna get Buckwheat instead of Night Manu from SW but now I'm thinking of just skipping both now.
I think I'll check out Golden Nectar & Naked Honey Salve when it hits UK shores.
Good review honey. Thank you :-)
Absolutely pass.Not any different:/
Thanks for the swatches. Now I really know, what I will buy when it comes out in Europe in 4 weeks.
At first, it was pass on everything. Now, I say pass on a lot of things, but now that I see some swatches, I will check out Buckwheat e/s and Queen Bee l/g. Pollinator e/s looks nice but not TERRIBLY different, given the fact that I have Paradisco.
I want to pass but it's not going to happen. I want the highlighters and the shadows....
I enjoy your videos and blog! Come check out my blog if you get a chance. Cheers. Michelle
awesome review and swatches, thanks Adina :) I think Queen Bee l/g (if it looks good on me), Creme de Miel e/s and the salve for me
I think it looks wonderful. A nice soft look on occasion. I am sure I will get something from here....
Crème de Miel looks so pretty!!!
And I just realized you have a new layout <3<3
As I always read you from Google Reader
Since when it's like this???
I love it!!!
thanks so much for the swatches! i am def. going to get the shadows and i'm debating on which beauty powder to get!
Fun and Makeup, it seems there is always a new MAC collection out huh? Thats part of the fun, something for everyone! ;)
Yinka, you are very welcome! I am glad you enjoyed my swatches. You have the 2 standouts on your list ;)
Ebvata, I am sorry you feel that way but can definitely see where you are coming from!
Paddy, you are very welcome! What do you have your eye on?
Erin, I guess we become more selective the more we acquire huh? Definitely have a good luck at everything before you decide what to buy ;) Queen Bee is very pretty, but if have Galapagos from Nars, skip buckwheat. Galapagos is prettier :)
lipstick rules, definitely give everything a good look and only get what you will use. That is what I do.
I am thrilled you love my blog. I will check yours out too! Be sure to follow ;)
Saadeh, you are very welcome! Great choices! ;)
Krista, I agree on the color scheme being mostly neutral. If you get one thing, i say go for the salve. Its awesome!
Willa, I updated my site about a week ago officially. I am glad you like it! ;)
Whit, definitely go with Golden Nectar, its prettier ;)
Very nice synopsis!! I like Creme de Miel I think...
Thanks Hilly! Creme de Miel is a very pretty soft gold :)
Glosses and shadows for me. I don't think the powder/bronzers will work for me. Thanks for the swatches Adina.
You are very welcome Ernie, can't wait to hear what you come away with!
I might go for the e/s, but other than that I'll gladly pass. I don't like honey. At all!
