Make An Appointment with PencilMeIn Cosmetics

Another post to file under makeup brands I discovered at The Makeup Show.

One of the most underappreciated items in any person’s makeup collection would probably be pencil eyeliner. Sure, we can line on the top and bottom with basic black and not even give it a second thought, but many fail to realize that there are other awesome eyeliner uses and applications. Many also assume that there isn’t any life beyond basic black and brown. Well folks, I am here to say that eyeliner is an awesome multi-tasker, it is essential, and colored eyeliners are your friend!

This brings me to the next part. One of the fantastic brands that I had the pleasure of running into at The Makeup Show was PencilMeIn Cosmetics, a brand whose focus is solely eyeliners in an array of colors and finishes. They have you covered whether you are looking for basic black or glittery powder blue.

PencilMeIn makes pencils comparable to your average kohl’s, but in not so average colors. They are creamy and both glide and blend easily. They are ideal for smoky eyes, and they make fantastic eyeshadow bases. A fun use for these pencils will be cutting the crease; nothing will give you a sharper line than these babies will!

As with all kohl pencils, these pencils are both smudgeable and creamy. For those of you with oilier lids, I do recommend setting these with powder to keep it looking fresh all day long.

Did I mention that these are infused with vitamins and antioxidants? Not only do they look great but they are also good for you. The caps come with a built in sharpener, which makes them super convenient too. You can choose from metallic, glittery, or standard issue matte in shades of pink, green, blue, yellow, and beyond. I fell in love with the stunning matte pastels and metallics.

Some swatches: Left to Right: Indigo, Sky, 24K, Pink Lady, Purple Passion, Mint

Some eyeliner tips:

- Liner is great for cutting the crease. You get all the precision of using a thin brush with shadow, but without powder fallout and mess!

- Looking to give your eye look a little extra something? Try using a pastel matte, or metallic shade on the inner corner to really open up the eye. This looks great when done on the lower waterline too.

- Always set your liner with powder to give it all day wear

- Eyeliners make great eyeshadow bases. Just apply all over the lid and blend using a synthetic fiber brush.

What are your favorite liners/liner tricks? Do share!

I normally take my mac liner brush and spray with mac charged water and dip my brush into some mineral shadows that are highly pigmented like Aromaleigh or Fyrinnae. They make some awesome knockout colors and I love to line with them

Krista, while I do appreciate a good mineral liner, I feel like they get all over the place. Whatever works though, right? :)

Hannah, those are both great pencils. I think we are alike in that we both love liners and eyeshadow bases ;)

I do agree they can make a mess. I am thinking on trying these. I am bad and usually use navy or black when I do use a pencil liner. Shame on me. I might give these a try and the price is nice too....
