Benefit Beauty- Creaseless Cream Shadow, Velvet Eyeshadow and Posietint

My first foray into the world of Benefit Beauty via One Hot Minute left me very satisfied and subtly glowing. Riding on the heels of that success, I set out to try some other Benefit products that have been deemed cult favorites by the masses.

First up for review is Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows- a buildable cream color for the eyes that pulls double duty as a liner. To me, these are nearly identical to MAC paint pots, only subtly smoother in texture and with a different color palette. These creaseless creams last all day, and are fantastic when layered with complimentary eyeshadows. I can definitely see myself reaching for strut for easy peasy smoky eyes.

Prenup on left, strut on the right. I have actually been using prenup with Smashbox shadow in Oyster for easy daytime eyes.
Posietint:
Next up is Posietint, Benefit's follow-up to their bestselling Benetint. Posietint is a liquid lip and cheek stain, designed to give cheeks a rosy, lit from within flush. It is very soft in color, and can be built up from a very sheery baby pink to a deep rose. I love how it gives me the look of just pinched cheeks, definitely very youthful. If I had to nitpick, my only gripe is that you have to work quickly, because once it dries it stays as is. Failure to work quickly means it will be very difficult to cover up your mistakes.

Top is unblended, bottom is blended. Notice how natural it looks? Posietint really is such a pretty color!

Velvet Shadows:

Benefit velvet shadows are a new addition to the permanent line of eyeshadows. They are ultra pigmented, silky smooth, and contain a subtle sparkling sheen. The shadows blend beautifully, do not crease, and last all the live long day. Where There's Smoke is a shimmering silver taupe with a hint of green to it. It is absolutely gorgeous when paired with a golden beige on top of Prenup creaseless cream shadow.
Here is a swatch, just so you can see the complexity of this be-yoo-tee-ful color

I must confess, Benefit was a line that I used to gloss (hehe) over when shopping at Sephora. No more, as I am convinced that the line is a beauty lover's goldmine. From eyes to lips, Benefit can help you achieve that elegant come hither look that is just perfect for daytime sophistication.

Hop on over to the Benefit website and look around, tell me if you like what you see.

What are your Benefit favorites?

I have both of those creaseless cream shadows and they are cool, definitely lighter (in texture) than Paint Pots...for me can crease a little w/o proper protection.

omg! me too. I just tried this brand for the first time! I got 2 creaseless shadows and a lippie. I am in love with them all! Great review. The new perfumes are yummy and I plan to pickeup more of the shadows after I use up a few of my mac paint pots..

I got prenup free on Sephora.com when my account built up so many points. I had never used that brand before. I like the cream shadows. Great base!!!

Prenup looks so pretty! My favorite is definitely Busy Signals (with Woodwinked on top). Ah love.

K, I definitely like them, but can see how they might crease since they are a tad bit creamier than paint pots

I think Benefit can be a bit hit and miss sometimes but they do have some great products. I love BrowZings, High Brow and Eye Bright. I also really like Bad Gal, Hoola, Ten and I'm very excited about Coralista - I'm waiting on it arriving from a MUA swap and can't wait! I've never really looked at the shadows but will have a nosey next time I'm at the counter. x
