Back in May, I was given some insider info about what Smashbox had up its sleeve for Fall 2009, and what I heard had me squeeing. I was told there would be a collection based off of the court of Henry VIII, with new items like a jet set quad and plum mascara. Well, I am happy to report that Temptalia has just posted the color story, and I am really liking what I see! Here is what we can expect:
Smashbox Reign Collection for Fall 2009
Eye Shadow Palette ($42.00) - Majesty Champgane, fuchsia, and black trio
- Monarch Gold, copper, and brown trio
Jet Set Palette ($48.00)
- Matte black/dark brown, Gold and metallic brown liner duos
Fusion Blush ($32.00)
Lash DNA Mascara ($19.00)
Lip Gloss ($18.00)
- Crowned Shimmering peachy pink
Doubletake Lip Color ($22.00)
Somehow, fall collections seem to be the best for me in terms of products and colors, and Reign is looking like it might live up to Wicked Lovely (a collection which I loved) for me. While this isn't nearly as dramatic as what we are seeing with the MAC Style Black collection, I am still pleased to see some stand out pieces in colors that I can rock with confidence at my corporate job.
What do we think? Is this a hit or miss from Smashbox? Or are we reserving judgment till we see it in person?

Thanks for the info on Smashbox! The collection looks like it could be a winner. I especially want to try that plum mascara. I think it could really accentuate my green eyes.
I really like the looks of this collection alot. I tend to be a fall gal. I love the colors of fall and holidays!!
Looks like a gorgeous collection! Of course, I'm pretty biased towards anything having do with Henry VIII's court, royal families, or history in general. I will definately be checking this out in person.
Piper, you are very welcome! I too have green eyes, and can't wait to try the purple mascara!
Krista, while the fall isn't my favorite season (since it means cold is coming), I do still love fall makeup collections!
The hollywood memoirs, i agree! I absolutely love anything to do with that time period too!
this looks like a total hit for me, especially the shadow trio. though i'm not too sure about the fuchsia - an experiment is in order
Lizzard, me too! I can't wait to try it all out! Fuchsia can be surprisingly wearable!
Just bought the "currant" lip pencil. Coupled with a lip "glass" (I got Eliz Arden crystal clear gloss) it looks awesome. It's dark, but that's what I was going for.
Msreinhardt, that sounds great! While it might feel a bit too early for dark, I am sure it looks absolutely divine and will be awesome for fall!
