MAC Style Black- Sneak Peek Review and Swatches

So I happened to wander into MAC today, when lo and behold I spotted a glimpse of the Style Black collection, which launches officially on September 24th. You know I couldn't let a good opportunity pass me by, and of course I have to share with all of you!

Here are my first impressions after playing with all of it. And of course I have swatches (taken on my blackberry). Apologies if they aren't the usual quality you are all used to.

The new greasepaint sticks are amazing. If its a rocker-inspired, smoked out eye that you seek, look no further than these wonders. They come in the same type of package as a shadestick, but are much creamier and smudgier. If you are looking for them to stay put, you must set them. The mineralize eyeshadows of the collection compliment these beautifully.

The mineral shadows are jampacked-full of super fine microglitter. The base to all of these is a rich black, naturally, with the color of the glitters adding a duochrome effect that is full of sparkle. As with all of the mineral shadows, expect fallout. Pairing these with the greasepaint sticks makes all of it worth it.

The lip products are unreal. Black Knight is a black creamsheen lipstick, full of intense, opaque, shiny black pigments. I think of it as the high-shine counterpart to Midnight Media- the collection's true black, mattene lipstick.

Hands down, the star of the lip products of this collection have to be the glimmerglasses. Sitting on a base of the creamiest, richest shade of black gloss you will find, are different shades of intense glittery goodness. Blackware is a true black, while the purple pearl in Blackfire gives that glimmerglass a purple hue, and the gold pearl in Bling Black gives that gloss a greenish/gold hue.

Baby Goth Girl Nail Lacquer is another winner- a rich black with a strong pink/purple/red tone to it. LOVE!

Swatches!

Style Black is the first MAC collection that I have fallen for in a while, and I have a feeling that my wallet will not be safe!

So tell me, will you be hauling Style Black?

Karina, haha. Yes!

Sandra, I don't think they will work on oily lids. If you have issues with shadesticks, then you will have a problem with these. They are more emollient than shadesticks.

FabDiva, great decision, and I think you picked some of the key items from the collection to haul :)
