Admittedly, I am not an Avon gal. Dismissing it as a brand that mostly caters to the everyday makeup user, I always turned down the catalogs offered to me and tuned out the commercials when they came on the tv. Leave it to a designer collaboration to pique my interest and draw me in, as the U by Ungaro Color Collection has. With its palette of shimmering, duochrome pastels, U has lured me in an kept me happy. This little taste of the unexpected ties in perfect with the shimmery, bright landscape of the holiday season. Soft color lovers will rejoice with this one.

The packaging is beautiful, done in dusty mauve/pink with silver. Both the eyeshadows and the shimmer powder are embossed with a raised U, iconic to the Ungaro brand, and the lipstick even has a U imprinted into it, seen when you twist up the tube.
Both the eyeshadows and the face powder glide on smoothly, and provide a healthy dose of shimmer that isn't overpowering at all. Champagne is a warm, soft gold while Runway Pink is a shimmering, cool pink. Runway Pink Shimmer powder contains 2 shades: a shimmering peach, the background color, and a bright mauve, the color of the embossed U. When swirled together, they create an ultra pigmented, slightly shimmery peachy rose/pink that reminds me of MAC's stero rose mineralize skinfinish. The color lasts all day, and a little bit goes a very long way.
The lipstick is a lovely shade of mauve, that glides onto the lips and feels super hydrating. The only downside to this lipstick is that I found it didn't stay on very long, though it did leave a nice pink tint on my lips when it faded.

Impressed with my first taste of Avon, I feel these offerings will impress even the most discerning of makeup lovers with their soft shimmer and lovely pigmentation. Beautiful packaging makes these items excellent stocking stuffers as well.
