Don't be Tardy for this Party- Lippmann Happy Birthday

This polish will make you party like it's your birthday

In case you were wondering, this does seem to be a week of nail polish here on Krasey Beauty. I have really found myself experimenting recently with both texture and color, resulting in a myriad of new options for my digits. Fac: one of my latest lacquer loves happens to be textured polish. Specifically, I am adoring texture in the form of the sequins and glitter present in select colors from Deborah Lippmann's Lippmann Collection. My newest discovery is the blingtastic Happy Birthday.

One of the newer additions to the Lippmann Collection family, Happy Birthday is a lacquer that holds within its clear depths a veritable rainbow of glittering sequins in all shapes and sizes.  As with the polishes of the 'Celebrate' set that came before it, Happy Birthday contains particles of foiled glitter chunks, and not just specks of glitter. The unique nature makes it truly stand out in my collection.

Also, as with both Ruby Slippers and Funky Chunky, you need to get the hang of applying this as to maximize the effect. I found that I got pretty good coverage by first brushing on the polish, and then dabbing clusters of sequin onto specific areas. Depending on the look you are going for, this polish can definitely be layered to your liking. Since I was going for maximum texture, I literally dabbed it on all over.

While you won't get any real color from the polish, I think that the clear base makes it ideal for use on top of any and all of your favorite polishes. Similar to the effects of adding crystal or rhinestone adornments to your nails post polish, Happy Birthday can almost be treated as an accessory, and will add tons of sparkle and shine to what might otherwise be a run of the mill manicure. For example, here it is on top of China Glaze's Flyin' High.

As you can see, the finished product almost looks like a birthday cake topped with sprinkles, yum! Lippmann Collection's Happy Birthday is like a confetti party for your nails, and you know that I sure do love me a party. If you are looking to bring some fun to your nails, then light the candles, put on your party dress, and grab yourself a bottle of Happy Birthday goodness on the Lippmann website.
