Brazilian Triple Threat at Maria Bonita Spa and Salon

I am always and forever on the lookout for hidden gems of beauty spots in this great city of mine. With more salons, spas, and beauty atria than you could shake a well manicured stick at, finding places worth both your time and your money could be a daunting challenge indeed. Last week, I was offered the opportunity to try the Luck of The Irish Package at Maria Bonita Spa. The experience (and results) still fresh in my mind, I want to go ahead and share the experience with you.

Immediately upon entering the spa/salon, I began to appreciate the laid back atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the overall friendliness of the staff. Having opted for the full 'Luck of the Irish' package, I knew I was in for an Envix deep conditioning treatment, hair blowout, and Brazilian manicure. As soon as I stepped foot in the door, the fine folks at the salon got the party started for me.

The process began with a hair wash, then followed with the application of the wonderfully scented deep conditioning Envix treatment. To ensure that the treatment stays where it belongs, an oh-so-glam shower cap was placed on my pate before I was whisked under an orbital dryer to activate the conditioner while I got my nails did.

The fun continued as I received my Brazilian manicure. If you are wondering how a Brazilian manicure differs from your standard issue (I know I was), the difference is in the polishing. My nails were cut and filed, cuticles were trimmed, and nails were buffed to perfection. The nail tech then painted the nail polish onto my digits kamikaze style, with spillage over onto my finger. After two coats of polish my cuticles were cleaned by way of an orange stick, and finished off with said orange stick and acetone soaked cotton on the end. The end result was a lovely manicure with no gaps in the polishing, a phenomenon that plagues my existence.

Nails polished, I was ready for a rinse and blowout extravaganza. My hair stylist Roger worked some kind of magic, because I was left with shining, lustruous, voluminous loose waves.

Post Envix, my hair is ridiculously shiny and smooth, and all kinds of drop dead gorgeous. I seriously cannot get over how amazing my long locks look and feel. For a delicious taste of Brazilian beauty flavor, Maria Bonita is your go to in NYC. For a full list of services offered, and to book an appointment, head on over to the website pronto.

Oh, and everyone looked so beautiful, that I just had to have this picture snapped. Here I am with two of the fiercest ladies I know, Andrea of the Glamazons and THE Heather of Seoul Diva fame.

Did you know that Heather is an amazing singer/recording artist? Her newest single just dropped, and it is a must listen. To download Trust You, hop over to HearThePark.com. You will thank me.
