Make Up For Ever Icons Metallic

Make Up For Ever Icon Collection Holiday 2010

Excited for all things new from Make Up For Ever? Well how about one last tasty little morsel to whet you appetite for holiday(!) 2010? Say hello to the metallic Icon collection.

For swatches and more details, read on!
My international readers may already be familiar with this collection, as it is considered Spring 2010 everywhere else. For us in the US however, this is slated to launch during holiday 2010. Let's get cracking and take a look-see at the lineup.

Metal Powders!

A brand new addition to the Make Up For Ever pigment family, Metal Powders are intensely foiled, ultrafine, super silky loose pigment powders. The collection contains four different shades of gold designed to be used to achieve intense metallic looks, with very little effort for the user. While these pack an intense pigment punch, you can rest assured that they glide across the skin with their silky smooth texture. Trust that my mind is already coming up with fun looks I can acheive. Metal smoke anyone?

Swatched:

Shade 1, the truest gold of the bunch:

Shades 2-4: Brassy Gold, Rose Gold, and Green-Gold

Top- Shade 1. Bottom: Shades 1 and 3 mixed

Diamond Powder

Those looking for a true gold microglitter will be happy to find that in the newest diamond powder. It isn't champagne or a brassy yellow, but rather a true gold in the ultrafine glittery texture of the diamond powders that we all know and love. As you can see above, I experienced a bit of swatch fail for this one, but I hope you can get an idea based on the swatch and the photo you see at the top of this post (top left corner).

Khol Pencils

Khol lovers rejoice, for you have two brand new pencils to enjoy. A true metallic gold with intense gold shimmer, and a deep black with intense gold shimmer. Creamy, smudgy, and altogether khol-like, these pencils are the perfect accompaniments to an intense (foiled) smoky eye.

Swatched, with flash.

Swatched in natural light to show the glittery shimmer.

With a gorgeous array of mouthwatering molten metallics, Make Up For Ever is making my heart sing. These products are all so new, they aren't even available in the boutique yet. No worries though, as I will be sure to keep you posted on dates of availability.

Any other metallic lovers out there? What do you think of the new lineup?

I am drooling over these items. I went to the boutique a couple of months ago and I almost died when I spotted them. Then the MA tells me it's a display only! I was so angry. I went back a couple of weeks ago and she said they had to remove the display b/c people were angry about not being able to buy it. Ya think?!? I can't believe this won't be out until the holidays. What a ridiculous tease.

I love, love, love gold metallics. So warming and perfect for summer. Can't easily get MUFE here though *sobs*. Will have to make do with my Illamasqua Marvel pigment and liquid metals. Which, in fairness, isn't such a hardship as they are lovely too!

Krasey Beauty said...

Jojoba, I hear ya ;)

Krasey Beauty said...

Helen, Illamasqua isn't a bad substitute at all. Would you like me to picket to get MUFE over by you? I will do it you know. ;) Everyone needs some MUFE in their life

Helen said...

Yes, yes yes. I definitely need some MUFE in my life! I have a couple of their shadow pots but always happy for more!

I guess is one of those rare collections that are launched in the US only after they are launched everywhere else. I'm impressed that this collection will come so late, there. Well what can I say MUFE loves Europe for now :)

Krasey Beauty said...

Tavia, I am lucky in that I won't have to wait too long. it will be coming to the NY Boutique soon!
