Pop quiz time. What do the following two ladies have in common?
If you guessed that they are both associated with kick-butt baked 'goods', you would be absolutely correct. Sure, Laura Geller's products aren't exactly edible, but that doesn't mean they aren't tasty. Let's delve deeper, shall we?
A top makeup artist with her home base in NYC, Laura Geller is the brains and beauty behind Laura Geller Cosmetics, a line that all QVC and Sephora devotees are well acquainted with. From Spackle Primer (one of her claims to fame, and a cult favorite no less!) to her baked eyerimz liners, Laura's baked treats bring the beauty.
Moonshadows in Fire Water and Midnight Magic
Moonshadows are shadow duos that mimic the light and dark sides of Mama Luna (the moon). One side features a miniature crescent of the high sparkle Sugared Baked Pearl shadow, while the other side features a much larger crescent of a contrasting shade of the marbleized Eye Rimz. Used together the effect is both whimsical and dramatic, with light and shine radiating from the sugary shade, and drama and depth emanating from the darker shade. For extra drama, these would rock used wet.
Midnight Magic features a frosty pale pink paired with a marbleized burnt burgundy.
Fire Water is my favorite of the two, pairing a pearly true gold with a stunning turquoise tinged black. This has intense smoky eyes scribbled all over it.
Eye Rimz Baked Eyeshadows
Eye Rimz are one of the standouts in the Laura Geller collection, in my opinion of course. A highly pigmented baked powder, these can be used both wet and dry. Each rimz shadow is swirled with multiple colors, giving them maximum shade complexity.
Eye Rimz in Gold Spell, Potion
Potion is a swirled black and white that swatches a deep, matte blackened grey with blue tones. Gold spell is blackened gold that swatches black brown with green and gold tones.
Tilted to show sparkle. Eye Rimz on bottom, Fire Water Moonshadow on top.
These baked shadows from Laura Geller are most definitely treats for eye color lovers. I will delve a bit deeper into the lineup a bit later, but in the meantime go check out Laura Geller Makeup, available on QVC, at Sephora, and of course in her NYC boutique and online store.
