My weekday existence is an unfortunate conflict of interests, as I am an eight to five corporate girl who loves her sleep, but also loves her elaborate makeup looks. I also adore color, but cannot go overboard for fear of giving my corporate coworkers a mild heart attack. In the dichotomy that is my life, colorful face palettes have become essential for their ability to bring the quick and easy with a little something extra (color!). Corporate Adina and makeup artist Adina must both be appeased, and on this particular spring they have been with the Bobbi Brown Color Strips Collection. Song and dance numbers have ensued, as I cannot stop heaping the praise on these little wonders.Waking up in the morning and throwing on a subtly colorful five minute face has never been easier.
A one stop shop for easy spring color, the color strips palettes come in three playful options- Bonfire, Aquamarine, and Orchid. Each sleek palette holds within its depths 5 shades of eyeshadow in varying finishes and levels of opacity, and three universally flattering lip/cheek colors. The palette is designed for those who are learning the ropes of makeup application and color theory, but is also a most certainly welcome addition to my morning makeup arsenal for its beautiful simplicity.
One of my usual gripes with all in one palettes is the tendency for lip products to become messy, and for powder to fly everywhere. When unfolding these palettes however, I could not help but admire the genius of the plastic windows that protect the contents on each side. These barriers ensure that powder and wax stay separate. Win!
Aquamarine is a set of five cool blue/grey tinged eyeshadows, and three cool lip and cheek shades that flatter one and all.
Eye Shades L-R Storm (matte blue black), Grey Sky (satiny greyed taupe), Aquamarine (shimmering clear sky blue), Lightening (shimmering grey taupe) and Ivory (bone beige satin)
Lip Shades Powder Pink (Rose ), Pale Pink (cool mid-toned pink), Sand Pink ( a beige/brown with light coral tones)
Aquamarine features your quintessential cool tones. From grey, to taupe, to icy blue- these eyeshadows are perfect for any daytime affair. Naturally, the lip and cheek colors are just as universally flattering and soft, providing the perfect kiss of color wherever they are applied.
Orchid:
Orchid is a gorgeous purple (purple!) themed palette that takes you from the sheerest lilac to the deepest shade of eggplant. The lips/cheeks are identical to Aquamarine's selections, which makes for a bit of repetitiveness if you get both selections, but a lot of joy if you are a fan of the shades.
White (off white satin), Dusty Plum (shimmering mauvey plum), Orchid Sparkle (sparkling pale pink/lavender), Mulberry (a warm, dusty eggplant matte), and Caviar (soft matte black)
The lip shades once more: Powder Pink, Pale Pink, Sand Pink
Just so you can see one of these palettes in action, here is a sneak peak of today's fotd, Aquamarine Eyes in Action
I may be a bit bi-polar but both corporate Adina and mua Adina agree that these palettes rock. For fast and simple accents using themed pops of color that can run from soft to bold, these all in one palettes take the cake. The brand new Bobbi Brown Color Strips are available right now both online and in stores.

LOVE the EOTD :) I looove palettes, even if they don't combine blush with lip products and eyeshadows - I just love staring at all the pretty colour choices.
Silhouette, thank you so much!!
Agree on the palettes. There is something so beautiful about having so many colors in one place.
