The Illamasqua Swatch Project- Eyes

One of the main reasons I started this beauty blog was to bring you the best NYC has to offer, especially if you don't live in NYC yourself. That in mind, I wanted to do something very special for my readers.

As you all know, Illamasqua has finally landed at Sephora Times Square. Most of you can't swatch and play in person, but instead have to force yourself to blindly follow website pictures of colors, which are often innacurate. My gift to all of you is an index of swatches of the entire line (minus concealer and foundation) available at Sephora. It took me 3 hours of swatching, but it was 3 hours well spent.

Part 1 begins with the eyeshadows, which are all gorgeously matte and heavy on the pigmentation. Feel free to click on the photos to see them much larger. :)

Left to right:

Sadist, Poem, Imagine, Can Can, Anja, Courtesan, Creep, Dizzy, Preen, Forgiveness, Fatal, Angst

Left-Right

Top: Vapour, Stalk, Bloom, Melodrama, Yes!, Fiasco, Dare, Victim, Intense, Moan, Fume, Never

Bottom: Tango, Shiver, Wolf, Moonflower, Bronx, Sex, Jules, Soul, Boomerang, Feline, Heroine, Incubus, Slink, Drama, Succumb, Gimp

The loose pigments: L-R, Top to Bottom

Marvel, Involve,

Furore, Conquer, Incite,

Chasm, Fervent, Breathe

Liquid Metals in Solstice and Enrapture

There you have it. Stay tuned for the next installments. Part 2 will be lips, Part 3 will be cheeks. Would love your feedback :)

Pebble.com for the Savvy Shopper

If you are reading this post right now, chances are you value the opinion of others when shopping for new merchandise, be it fashion, beauty, or even technology-related. Personally, I know that I can't venture out on a shopping excursion without a plan, a general idea on what is out there, and without knowing what the best of the best is.

This is where a new online tool that I have recently discovered becomes very handy. Pebble.com
is a neat little site that aids the consumer in a major way. Being one part one-stop shop, one part review site, and one part intereactive forum; Pebble has the ability to become an integral search tool that allows you to look up virtually any product your heart desires.

Got a question? Use pebble's 'Ask Question' function to call upon others to help you, and get answers. Can't find something online? Type it in the search bar and Pebble finds it for you.

Here are some reasons why Pebble rocks

1. Easy to use- To get started, all you need to do is type in the product you are looking for in the search bar. Pebble will automatically pull up the results, and display the product, reviews (if available), and the sites where you can get them with prices. If you want to ask a question, click on that feature and call upon your fellow savvy shoppers.

2. All encompassing- From fashion, to beauty, to electronics and media; Pebble literally has everything!

3. Interactive- Going above and beyond the typical 'find a product' site, Pebble offers a Q and A function that helps you connect with others to get honest answers about products.

All in all, I highly recommend you check out Pebble.Com, definitely a very useful site for all of your shopping needs.

My Illamasqua Makeover with Daniel

In the madness that was the Sephora launch, I had the chance to hang out with the Illamasqua team, and be madeover by the amazing Daniel.

Daniel loved what I had done with my eyes, so he kept that as is. Instead we went for flawless skin, and a strong pink lip.

On my eyes, I had on Urban Decay Primer Potion, Smashbox Eyeshadow in Oyster, Make Up For Ever shadow in 9, Make Up For Ever Aqua Gel Liner in Purple, and Smashbox Bionic Mascara in Purple.

Daniel used on me (all Illamasqua of course)

Satin Primer
Cream Foundation in 120
Powder Foundation in 120 to set
Powder Foundation in 240 for contour
Cream blush in Rude on Cheekbones with Cream Blush in Lies to Highlight
On Lips he used Climax Lipstick and Soul Intense Lipgloss

The final product:

Hope you enjoyed this look, because I certainly did. I will have more Illamasqua looks coming in the future, so be on the lookout for those. ;)
