Cream is the Word

Looks like MAC is on a roll with new releases this week. Next up is Cream Team, a collection of Creamsheen Lipsticks (MAC's newest formula) along with Creme Sheen Glasses (another new formulation from MAC)

Let us begin by discussing the lipsticks. Class is in session folks, so pay attention ;)

Creamsheen lipsticks were first introduced back in the fall of 2008 and were speculated as being MAC's answer to the Amplified Cream, which a formula MAC has started phasing out. Creamsheens are essentially a creamier, more moisturizing version of the amplified creams. Coverage is medium to full and the range of colors is safe, but fairly broad

Lipstick- All of these colors will become permanent to the MAC line with the exception of Lavender Whip (which is actually my favorite of the bunch)
  • Creme Cup - A creamy pink neutral. I can easily see this being a go to nude lipstick
  • Shy Girl - A peachy coral bordering on the nude side. Very natural looking and lovely with both warm and cool makeup looks
  • Cross-Wires- orally orange with pink undertones
  • Lickable - Cool, bright pink
  • Lavender Whip - A lilac pink with just the right amount of lavender hue
  • Creme in Your Coffee- A medium beiged neutral with a hint of red to it
  • Hang Up- Burgundy with pink hues

Cremesheen Glass
The Cremesheen Glasses are also of a new formulation, said to be like a more pigmented answer to MAC's lip gellees. The cremesheens are smooth and impart a wet look to the lips, all the while making them feel moist and cushiony. The only drawback is that these have pitiful pigmentation. Then there is the price which is a full $3 more than a regular mac lipglass.
  • Ever So Rich - A milky baby pink with just a hint of lavender
  • Fashion Scoop - Pale baby pink, but pretty much applies clear
  • Boy Bait - Beigey peach
  • Partial Pink - Light pink with a hint of peach
  • Melt in Your Mouth - Described as a creamy pink, but this one looked a tad coral to me
  • Petite Indulgence - Medium bright pink
  • Crème Anglaise - Lightest berry or mauve
  • Looks Like Sin - Deep berry/brown
The creamstick liners are nothing new, just some complimentary repromotes of permanent items.

Without further adieu, for your viewing pleasure here are the swatches ;)

Great review! I am glad to know that most
of the Cremesheen Lipsticks are here to
stay.

I was also drawn toward the Cremesheen Glass, but thanks to your review I don't think I will get it because of the poor pigmentation.

Thanks for the informative post!

Abby, you are probably right. That would probably be an amazing combo! Today I am wearing Lavender Whip with Mega Lip Gelee. That brings the violet out like woah!
