With a symphony of brilliant instrumentals and a backdrop of a calm rock garden, the stage was set for the Ports 1961 Spring 2010 collection to make its debut.
The makeup look had a sci fi/punk vibe to it, with clean faces, bright orange/red eyeshadow, and slicked back bouffants with tons of volume at the crown.
The yin to the makeup's yang was the easy, breezy clothing designs with a modern oriental twist.
Done up in muted colors, this year's runway saw lots of beige in the mix, with poppy splashes of tangerine and coral. Asian inspired obi belts, and kimono-like wraps gave the otherwise modern cut clothing an old world, oriental charm. Ports had everything, from super structured pillowing shoulders to easy breezy tunics and a-line dresses.
I am beyond happy to have seen the collection in person. With such an amazing lineup for spring, it is no wonder Ports 1961 is the name on all the fashionistas' lists.
