Givenchy Le Prisme Yeux in Island Lagoon

Tropical the island breeze. All of nature wild and free. This is where I long to be. La isla bonita
 - La Isla Bonita by Madonna

Before I delved into pictures and started discussing the stunning beauty that is Givenchy for summer, allow me to show you the natural beauty one of the eyeshadow palettes was inspired by. What you see above is Mauritius, a spot that I for one wouldn't mind inhabiting for a week, or fifty. Captured the essence of all that is beautiful in nature, the Le Prisme Unique Palette in Island Lagoon inspires a very similar sense of awe.

Ultramarine, Cornflower, and a crisp sky blue dance together in what I think is a stunning palette of eyeshadows, one shade melding into the next in a unique pattern modeled after the natural geography of Mauritius. The sea and sky shades immediately grab me, while the way the powder catches light and refracts it back sends me on a flight of fancy. Not going to lie, I sigh wistfully whenever I open this palette. Oh to have the chance to vacation in paradise.

Much like all other Givenchy shadows I own, these three shades possess a unique brand of pigmentation that is simultaneously both soft and intense. The microparticles in the shadow make the powder feel like smooth silk, gliding onto the lid and with each shade blending into one another seamlessly. While the hues look incredibly intense in pan, they apply soft and are completely layerable to achieve desired opacity. With a slightly emollient base (think shimmering cream), these shades pop bright, and cool like the ocean.

Swatched, you can see that these shadows have a good deal of pigment. Gorgeous.

Givenchy for summer is currently available online at Sephora. Like a warm, tropical Mauritian breeze, this tropical hued eyeshadow palette inspires.

They do look gorgeous, but I really don't like shadows that are alltogether like that. I always run out of one first lol! Same reason I don't like Mac's Mineralize eyeshadows.

Madame B, I definitely see your point. Somehow I still think the prettiness makes it all worth it though ;)
