Doing Drugstore- The Across the Pond Edition with Rimmel

Today's swatch extravaganza is courtesy of a line that comes all the way from across that vast Atlantic pond. Say 'ello to Rimmel London's spring lineup, a great little array of products that are both fun and affordable, not to mention easily accessed at your local drugstore.

Shimmering Maxi Bronzer in Sun Love

Sun Love is that bronzer designed to be used wherever you need a kiss of golden color. Throughout the satiny brown base are stripes of shimmering gold that give the powder some sparkle and shine. The shade is a golden copper that is best used with a light hand and fluffy brush.

Swatched: L-R Powders together, satin powder, glitter stripe

Eyeshadows in 200 (Spicy Bronze), 400 (Royal Violet), and 500 (Posh Peacock)

Packed with pigment, Rimmel Shadows are an affordable way to get your eye color fix. For summer, these three shades especially hit the spot.

200 (Spicy Bronze)

400 (Royal Violet)

500 (Posh Peacock)

Swatched: Bronze, Violet, Peacock

Royal Gloss in 51 (Peach Crush), 221 (Sweet Lust) and 701 (Cookie)

A rich gloss with delicious flavors and an even more delicious shine, Royal Glosses come in your standard squeezy tube. For a kiss of color and a wallop of shine, these glosses bring it.

51, 221, 701 Swatched.

When it comes to livening up your complexion, nothing beats a blusher. These pretty options from Rimmel bring a great deal of pigment with a subtle sheen, but unfortunately require a bit of work in the blending arena. Also, you can't count on the included brush to do much for application, it doesn't work.

Blush in Pink Rose

Blush Trio in Summer Fever

Swatched, Pink Rose on left, Summer Fever on right. Notice how pigmented these are?

Moisture Renew Lipsticks in 140 (Dreamy), 220 (Pink Chic), and 900 (Red Alert)

Last but not least, the Moisture Renew lipsticks bring both color and moisture to your flapping lips. With a wide range of shades in everything from sheer nudes to popping reds, these lipsticks are an affordable way to introduce new colors into your repertoire. The only downside is the lower than average staying power, which is fine if you are okay with reapplying.

While I don't usually turn to drugstore beauty, Rimmel is a line that has both intrigued and impressed me. Surely those UKers are on to something.

Where are my fans of Rimmel? Inquiring minds need to know, what are some of your favorites from this drugstore brand?

I've been a long time Rimmel fan and regularly cover them. In fact, they have a huge following in Australia and Asia-Pac.

They produce high quality products and produce some real cult classics that are faves amongst beauty insiders and fair skinned Mavens.

It's a real shame that the current selection available here is limited. I am happy that they are slowly expanding and including more of the cult faves.

Nancy, thank you for sharing your thoughts on the brand. While I am more recently acquainted with the line and its offerings, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed!
