When it comes to nail adorning, why should a girl stop at traditional lacquer when looking for fingertip enhancers? I for one consider myself to be of a unique beauty persuasion, and love to try all things that are new, exciting, and most importantly bold! Imagine my excitement when I finally had the opportunity to try the famous Minx Manicure at a recent event.
At a launch event for the HTC Droid Incredible (more on that later), I had the chance to adorn and customize my digits with the hottest metallic nail manicure ever. Naturally, I needed a sleek, sexy, customizable manicure worthy of such a sleek, sexy, customizable phone.
Minx is a predominantly metallic stick-on manicure system that was born in the world of editorials and high fashion, but has trickled down into the masses thanks to the select salons that have now started to offer the service. The manicure is made to stand the tests of time with an estimated wear of two to three weeks, and with a myriad of hotter-than-hot styles and patterns, it is no wonder the minx nail has become associated with practicality and a high-fashion edge.
The process began with a buff and a file, to give the stickers a smooth surface to hold on to. My nail tech then showed me my options, and immediately got to work after I picked out both the zebra and the silver and white fishnet to adorn my digits. The stickers were peeled off their sheet, warmed under a heat lamp, and applied and then custom-trimmed to each fingertip. After a smoothdown to ensure no bubbles were present, the process was done and I was left with a manicure that was fun, funky, and as unique as I am.
It is now one week later, and I am pleased to say that my mani has held up rather well. With the exception of the corners lifting on a few of my typing-abused digits, there are no issues in the form of unsightly chips, scratches, and general manicure gnarliness. I feel like I am already leading a more glamorous lifestyle. Armed with a droid and rocking a minx manicure; I feel like a rockstar.
*The Minx Manicure was provided as a complimentary service, thanks to HTC.

Do they layer / stick it down with a topcoat?
Your mani looks fabulous!!
I love the look of Minx but i could never afford them and don't like going to salons :( I wish there was a really good DIY alternative.
Bren, I believe that is a part of the usual process. In this case, there was no topcoat.
