Talika Eye Therapy Patch

There are many ways to wear an eye patch. Some are hot, others are not as hot.
Hot:
Not so Hot

Get the picture?

In fashion, the eye patch is clearly hit or miss. In skincare however, the eye patch seems to very much be a hit. Hailing from France, the Talika Eye Therapy Patch is an undereye wrinkle blaster, designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, puffiness, and dullness under the eyes with a 30 minute application.

Description from the website: A unique patch, totally innovative in its use and action. Reusable, even washable, it produces gradual and controlled diffusion of the active ingredients, stimulating the skin surrounding the eye area to a younger and smoother appearance.

This reusable patch, reduces all trace of fatigue appearing under the eyes. It is a pleasant, effective, natural and comfortable solution for combating wrinkles, circles and under-eye puffiness.
How to use it ?
Open the sachet, apply each patch to the under-eye area and leave on for 30 minutes. Remove patch and store in jewel case for re-use. Talika recommends using the patch in the evening, 2 to 3 times a week.

The patches come with a convenient carrying case, designed to hold the patches post use.

Does it work?

The patches feel cooling immediately on contact. After waiting the half-hour out, I peeled them off to notice my undereye area looking more supple and hydrated. After a few weeks of use, I definitely think my under-eye situation is looking a lot better. Good thing too, as sleep isn't necessarily abundant at K.B HQ.

Here I am, rocking the patch proudly!

The Talika Eye Therapy Pouch is available on the Talika website, so stop on by and have a look.

Regally Gorgeous- Smashbox Reign Collection Review and Swatches

I first told you about the Smashbox Reign Collection a few weeks back when it launched. With visions of Jonathan Rhys Meyer's Henry VIII swirling through my brain, I dreamed of creating my very own Tudor-esque vixen using the gorgeous fall color palette that Reign offers.

The look Smashbox is trying to capture with this amazing collection is full of opulence, sophistication, and elegance with a hint of something smoky and dangerous just beneath the surface. Duality is also a huge theme, as most of the products have shimmer/matte and light/dark components. I love versatility, and this collection has that in volumes.

Behold, the Smashbox Reign Collection. Too pretty not to ogle, with lush leather like packaging emblazoned with the Reign logo. ;)

Best way to go about this is to give you a play-by play, so here we go!

Jet Set Liner Palette.
I love love love Smashbox's Jet-Set, a creamy gel liner that glides on, and lasts forever-ever. It stands to be mentioned that the formula of jet set is a bit dryer than standard issue gel liner, making it more opaque and less prone to skipping (much like my beloved Make Up For Ever Cream liners).
The packaging is pure genius, with two pots divided in half. Dark and matte colors (basic black and brown) are on one side, with the metallic shimmers (gold and bronze) on the other. Each dual pot of liner has a snap-shut plastic lid to keep air out, and the kit comes with an adorable mini angled brush to boot!

Reign Fusion Blush
As summer draws to a close (boooo), I find myself wanting to prolong the effects of a warm bronze glow well into the winter and fall. Reign is a soft peachy nude, with an ingenius grid aspect that allows you to have either matte or shimmer finishes. I personally love to contour with the matte shade, and highlight with the shimmers.

Doubletake Lip Color in Amaretto and Currant
Another ingenius idea from the folks at Smashbox, Doubletake is a dual sided lip pencil that has a lip liner pencil on one side, and a super creamy lipcolor on the other. Amaretto is a warm caramel shade that goes on smooth and lasts all day. Currant is a rich Bordeaux that just may be my new favorite color for fall/winter.

Eyeshadow Palette in Monarch-
Monarch is a delightfully neutral palette that is perfect to take you from day into night. The palette itself has a trio of shimmery shades with solid matte, matching centers.

Crowned Lipgloss
Smashbox lipglosses are super slick, rich, and luxurious. Crowned is a stunning peachy pink that applies with a doe foot applicator. It makes a gorgeous nude lip!

Now you know this post wouldn't be complete without my swatches, so here we go:

L-R: T: Jet Set Palette shades in black, brown, gold, and bronze
B: Amaretto Doubletake (liner on top, lipstick on bottom), Fusion Blush Matte/F.B Shimmer

Amaretto on the Lips:
Currant:
L-R, T to B: Shadow Palette in Monarch, Jet Set Palette, Lip Pencil, Blush

That my friends is the Smashbox Reign Collection in a nutshell. I am absolutely ga-ga for the shades, and range of products and textures. Inquiring minds want to know, will you be hauling Reign?

Reign is available online at Smashbox.com, at Sephora, and at the Plaza Beauty by Warren Tricomi.

Make Up For Ever Flash Color Review

What is a week on Krasey Beauty without at least some mention on this beauty bunnie's favorite cosmetics brand?

Answer: A bad week, indeed. Pretty nonexistent actually.

Today's post will be covering an item I haven't talked too much about yet, the Make Up For Ever Flash Color Pots.

Make Up For Ever Flash Colors are opaque, pigmented creams designed to be multipurpose. They are very creamy, and full of rich color that can be used on eyes, lips, face, and body. My favorite applications of these include lips, cheek color, and of course eyeshadow base. One thing to keep in mind when using these is that they are very very creamy, and will crease on the eye if not set with a powder. A little bit goes a long way with these, so they will virtually last forever.

In commemoration of the 25 year anniversary of Make Up For Ever, the iconic brand has released a limited edition, flash color palette housing 12 of Dany's personal favorite shades. The palette is designed to take you across a huge number of looks, no matter what ideas you are trying to bring to life. I personally think the palette is a must have for any fan of Make Up For Ever. I know I have been fiending to get my hands on one.
While I have not had the chance to schlep on down to the store and pick one up, I do have a couple of the shades housed within the palette, 0 (turquoise) and 3 (silver) to show you all.

It is so hard to capture how utterly gorgeous these are when swatched, but I definitely did try:

Make Up For Ever flash colors are available in individual pots, and in the commemorative 25 year anniversary palette. Deliciously pigmented, and amazingly versatile, these are a must-have for every traincase. Get yours at your nearest Sephora, or online here

Make Up For Ever Artist Secrets- HD Concealer Review

Riding on the heels of the success of their AMAZING HD foundation (my HG, naturally), Make Up For Ever has just launched Artist Secret #7- High Definition Concealer. I glimpsed this product at The Make Up Show in May, so naturally I couldn't wait to get my hands on it upon release. Designed to offer up flawless, natural-looking coverage, this HD concealer goes the distance, runs laps, and crosses the finish line victorious.

Its unique silicone tip spreads more evenly than a brush can, without scratching or tugging at delicate undereye skin. The concealer is designed to offer up smooth, medium coverage that blurs imperfections for a soft-focus effect. Designed to mimic natural skin's texture, this concealer is designed to get you camera ready, or even seen out in public ready, in no time flat.

Swatch: This is shade 325, which was surprisingly an excellent match considering I am 115 in the foundation.

Of course you know I need to show you the before and afters for you to see just how awesome this stuff is. This concealer blends like a dream, does not accentuate fine lines by settling into them, and wears well all day long. Coverage looks 100% natural, which I love!

Before: notice the hint of purple and blue undereye action I have going on that had nothing to do with the eyeshadow I was wearing.

After: Purple and blue undereye, begone!

In my eyes (and under them too), Make Up For Ever can do no wrong. This new HD Concealer is a big hit in my book, and has become a happy member of my make Up For Ever arsenal. It is available now at Sephora, so be sure to check it out in person and get thee color matched.
