Fashion Musings- Premium Denim
Just a couple of days ago, I was killing time browsing through one online sample sale site or another, when I decided to investigate the obligatory premium denim sale situation. Perusing the offerings, I couldn't help but think of how steep the prices were, despite boasting a savings rate of over 50%.

Sexy Beast Lip Gloss – this pout-perfecting formula offers maximum moisture and is non-sticky, and richly pigmented.
Essie Matte About You Matte Finisher: You know I love this one to death. Matte About You creates a smooth matte finish and adds new dimension and texture to any nail color.

Holiday Beauty- Rock and Republic Color Collection
Just in time for the holidays, Rock and Republic Cosmetics is a new blip on my cosmetics radar that I have immersed myself in, and have fallen madly in love with.
These are my picks for a perfect smoky eyed party look:

Also available for the holidays, Rock & Republic is launching limited edition Rock the Cure Red lipgloss. Benefiting City of Hope, this is beauty for a cause at its finest.
Rock and Republic Cosmetics can be found online, at Bloomingdales, and other high-end department stores. I have fallen in love with the line, and I think you will too.
Rock and Republic is the perfect fusion of luxe packaging, fashion forward makeup trends, and exceptional quality. From the same house that brings you delicious designer denim, each piece from this collection is equally covetable. The packaging is just plain sexy, with each compact having a good deal of weight to it, finished in reflective silver with real patent leather in the lid. The lipglosses are also beautiful to look at, and come in a patent capped test tube.
Nailed eyeshadow- Smooth, gunmetal gray with hints of blue and green.
Fiend Eyeshadow- Deep navy, and the perfect compliment to nailed. Together, you get a smoky look worthy of any rock star.
Tyrant Lipgloss- Bruised berry, and an unexpected shade to pair with a strong eye. The somewhat sheer glossiness ensures that the look isn't too over the top, though it can be paired with a soft eye look for daytime.
Mental Gel Eyeliner- A deviation from traditional black liner, this ultra-smooth gel in navy blue brightens the whites of your eyes, even as it rims your peepers in gorgeous color. I found the formula of these to be nearly identical to my beloved Make Up For Ever Aqua cream liner, which is slightly dryer than a typical gel liner.
Call Me Powder Blush- The perfect contrast to dramatic eyes, Call Me is a silky soft, matte peach that is absolutely divine. I just love peach blushes, to warm up my complexion in colder months.
Swatches: L-R Mental, Nailed, Fiend, Call Me
Bringing it all together, a finished eye look:
Lip Swatch: Tyrant Lipgloss
The half face shot. Because sometimes, dramatic can be so much fun.

That's Haute- The Hautelook Lounge for MBFW
In the madness and chaos that was Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, there existed an oasis where bloggers could escape. Where soft pop music and beautiful fragrances wafted in the air, beauty brands of all shapes and sizes showed off their products, and where bloggers came to get some serious writing done. Ladies and gents, that oasis was the Hautelook Lounge. Sponsored by the fabulous online sample sale site that brings you (and me) exceptional designer duds at way-less than retail prices, the lounge became a serious place to unwind and get things done, away from all the craziness.
Location is key, and what better spot to host a calm oasis than smack-dab across the street from all the action. The scene was set at the penthouse suite at the Bryant Park Hotel, decorated beautifully by Nina Freudenberger, with a soothing and very relaxed ambiance. To keep bloggers 'wired', Sony Style provided the suite with brand new Sony Vaio laptops to use for keeping up with all of our social media outlets. With food, beverages, and plenty of good company, the Hautelook lounger quite literally became my home away from home during the first 6 days of fashion week.
Here are a few more photos of the scene, and all the beautiful people therein.
With the beautiful Kathia, resident Makeup Artist with Cover FX
2 Days at the lounge, 2 different computers to blog at. So stylish, Sony is.

Some of the beauties that stopped by: L-R, Nancy of Informed Makeup Maven, Dina of Eye4Style, and Michelle of All Lacquered Up
I will post on the fabulous products/brands that I discovered while at the lounge, so stay tuned for that post. A special thank you to all beauty brands present, to Andres over at Kaplow, and to all the kind folks at Hautelook, who made it all possible.
P.S If you aren't signed up yet with Hautelook, you should be! In fact, here is my personal invite code, so click my link here to join the party. :)
