Not too long ago, I highlighted a lovely little palette that happens to feature brilliant hues from all across the spectrum, in miniature! Bobbi Brown’s Brights is the perfect palette for introducing bright pops of playful color into your beauty repertoire. Much like your feisty grandmother, Brights has a vivid personality in a teeny tiny package. Don’t be fooled by the seemingly ordinary plain exterior, for the interior is anything but.

I am not one to go the moderate route in anything I do. In addition to a clothing and shoe shopping addiction, I also possess a certain predisposition to snatch up each and every makeup palette I can find. I cannot even begin to describe how much joy I feel when I come across a wonderful little box of all in one goodness, easy to use and ready at my fingertips whenever I need it.

My weekday existence is an unfortunate conflict of interests, as I am an eight to five corporate girl who loves her sleep, but also loves her elaborate makeup looks. I also adore color, but cannot go overboard for fear of giving my corporate coworkers a mild heart attack. In the dichotomy that is my life, colorful face palettes have become essential for their ability to bring the quick and easy with a little something extra (color!). Song and dance numbers have ensued,  as I cannot stop heaping the praise on these little wonders.Waking up in the morning and throwing on a subtly colorful five minute face has never been easier.

Holiday Beauty Gift Guide- Armani Beauty Eyes to Kill Palette

Released for fall 2009, the Armani Beauty Eyes to Kill palette is a stunning trio of complimentary shadow shades laid out in concentric rings, and embossed with the name of the palette in the center.

Staying true to the Armani aesthetic, the palette is done in a sleek black, in a palette that fits in the palm of your hand. 

 

Eyes to Kill comes in 4 color variations, but I feel like Rouge Iron is the most in tune with the holiday theme. The gold and cranberry shades go beautifully together, and can be combined in multiple ways for a party-worthy look. The shadows are silky smooth, with plenty of pigmentation and just the slightest hint of sparkle. This is grown-up color that is bold, but not over the top.

 

Swatches: Warm red with just a hint of sparkle is the outermost shade, champagne gold with an almost metallic quality is the dominant, central shade, and burgundy brown matte is the center shade.

 

 

Just to give you an idea of how wearable this is, here is an eye look. Unfortunately, I forgot the mascara. We won't judge right? ;)

Roll Out the Red Carpet with Lorac, & Meet Carol Shaw!

Being the huge celebrity that I am, I just don't have the time or patience to spend on applying lots of makeup that doesn't perform. I mean, in between the movie screenings, killer afterparties, and trips to the French Riviera, who has the time to waste on junky products and messy singles?

OK, so maybe I am exaggerating just a wee bit, but good palettes are hard to come by, while great liquid liners are even harder to spot. Fortunately, LORAC has the cure for what ails you (and me). The black shade is rich, with a slight metallic sheen to it. Best of all, no clicking necessary, and no ooze to deal with.

Red Carpet Reveal Palette

The Red Carpet Reveal Palette houses a beautiful trio of neutral eyeshadow shades, alongside a dusty rose blush. Not one to gravitate towards neutrals usually, it was the quality and versatility of the palette that drew me in at first. Each and every shade is buttery soft and deliciously pigmented. The colors range from a shimmering pale gold to rich, deep chocolate brown, with textures that are in that perfect state of everyday shadow homeostasis, right between a shimmer and a matte.

Love is... The Illamasqua Sirens Limited Edition Palette

Have you ever wanted something so bad that you could almost taste it? Watched it being shamelessly paraded in front of your very eyes (you shameless tease, you), only to find your grubby, eyeliner-stained hands grievously bereft? Woe would fall upon you, and woe was most certainly upon me in this particular instance.

Okay, so it seems that my writing has developed a slight flair for the dramatic, but I assure you that I am being 100% sincere about my desire towards acquisition of said item. What is it you may ask? Well, said mystery item would happen to be the Illamasqua Limited Edition Sirens Palette. How to acquire this item of beauty was elusive; being that a. it was only available at Selfridge's in the UK and b. it sold out almost immediately, I resigned myself to the fact that I would just have to live without the beauty of this palette in my life.

Fast forward to present day, when I receive an email from Illamasqua informing me that it was my last chance to purchase the Sirens eyeshadow quad (something ridiculously high on my lemming list), and... the Sirens LE Palette! Surely it was a sign from above, that this palette was meant to be mine after all. I promptly whipped out my card and purchased said palette in question. I then engaged in the celebratory palette acquisition dance, which looks something like the cabbage patch, but snazzier.
