Local Adventures- A New York City Kind of Day

While strolling through NYC one day,
in the very merry month of May,
I was taken by surprise,
by a pair of rogueish eyes (my boyfriend’s),
in a moment my poor heart was stole away.

More and more, I come to explore this great city in which I live. More and more I fall head-over-heels in love. This past Saturday, my boyfriend and I marched on in the pursuit of adventure. Join us, will you?

The day began with a trip to see Banana Shpeel, a Cirque de Soleil Production, at the Beacon Theartre

If you know me in real life, or follow me on twitter, you will know that I go ga-ga for frozen yogurt. Naturally the boyfriend and I made a stop at Red Mango, to partake in some frozen deliciousness.

Post fro-yo indulgence, we wandered a bit to explore the surrounding area. Not much later, we arrived at Buddakan for dinner.

Dinner, as you know was legendary. Too full to even think about making the trek back home, we instead wandered into the magical place that is the Chelsea Market. From lobster to gelato, the market has it all.

The Chelsea Market building was established in a space that used to belong to The New York Biscuit Company back at the turn of the 20th century. Now, the eclectically decorated space holds all kinds of delights for both the eyes and the tastebuds.

Photographer Dave Mead's work graces the walls of the Market. The Magnificent Specimens of quirky, mustached and bearded men's portraits thoroughly amaze and amuse onlookers.

My boyfriend and I just had to pose with that big, faux 'stache.

The scents coming from Amy's Bread held us in its thrall. We couldn't eat again, but that doesn't mean we didn't take some fresh baked doughy goodness home.

And finally, we refreshed ourselves with delicious fruit bars from People's Pops. The fresh fruit that goes into these frozen bars of goodness are grown by local farmers. I enjoyed a yogurt, pear, and maple syrup bar. Nom

I think we both learned that day that there is so much waiting to be explored in this great city of mine. When was the last time you went on a local adventure?

Boston Hauling

My newest obsession this summer is the entire Marc Jacobs line. With that in mind, I knew it was all downhill as soon as I stepped into the Marc Jacobs boutique on Newbury street in downtown Boston.

Introducing, the newest additions to my happy accessory family:

MJ Aidan Bag in Plum- Perfect for fall, and just the right size
and

MJ Oversized Plastic Frames in eyecatching plum. Channeling my inner screen siren.
It is official, and I am in love. Is anyone else digging Marc Jacobs? Any other lines you have recently fallen in love with?

Amazing Trips, The Boston Addition

Those of you that are following me on Twitter know, I took a trip to Boston with my fellow beauty blogger and kindred spirit, Amy of The Beauty Chick.

I will put up a few more posts with details on the trip in the coming week (fotds, ootds, and haul), but for now, I will leave you with a few of my favorite photos from the trip. Yes, I did take a lot of pictures. I cannot hide the fact that I love to be snapped on camera, I can't help it!

On the bus ride down to Boston. Virtually no AC made us very cranky indeed. Nevertheless, with a full trip ahead we were all smiles

Right before out first night out, I love how the gold cast to the photo makes for an ethereal glow

Yum Yum time, rocking my lobster bib proudly!

How this beauty bunny unwinds after a long day of travel

I call this Southern Belle misplaced

Cheers
Where everyone knows your name

I NEED this headband, anyone have any idea where to get others like it?

With the most amazing Beauty blogging ladies I know, Bella and Gigi of Beauty Xpose

Not sure what I was trying to accomplish, but it works

Quack Quack Quack

At the end of an amazing trip, exhausted but oh so happy. Boston was amazing, and I can't wait to go back. :)

That is all for now, stay tuned for more posts on my fantastical trip this week!
